Afrimaxx is a lifestyle show that searches for inspiration and innovation across popular culture, from fashion and design to architecture, art, food, and travel. The show aims to bring to light the modern African design philosophy by presenting a contemporary lifestyle for a young, emergent pan-African target group: inspiring, motivating, andfuture-oriented. Displaying to the world what Africa has to offer in the next great design Renaissance.

Episode 1
Afrimaxx opens at Nairobi Fashion Week, where bold African designers confront climate change with decarbonised fashion. We meet activist Emanang Joy and creatives redefining sustainability on their own terms. From there, a wildlife photographer turns fleeting squirrel encounters into joyful art, while South African icon Simphiwe Dana reflects on the personal journey behind two decades of influential music. Finally, in Kenya, visionary designer Nelly Gesare reimagines waste as the future of African design, and in Lesotho, endurance rider Sechaba Chabeli faces a mountain that tests both body and spirit. 

Episode 2
Afrimaxx dives into Africa’s evolving lifestyle scene, starting in Johannesburg, where chef Moses Moloi turns local comfort food into refined, globally inspired cuisine at the buzzing Gigi Restaurant. In Rwanda, designer Maurice Niyigena channels history and renewal into fashion that speaks to identity and rebirth. We then travel to Cape Town for a gourmet restaurant on wheels, before heading to Nairobi, where a vibrant craft café reimagines woodwork as a playful, community-driven experience. Finally, in Nigeria’s capital, Abuja, we count down five unmissable ways to explore a city that blends culture and urban adventure.
