Ultimate Chocolate Sandwich



  • 1 Chocolate & orange panetone or similar
  • 200g, good quality dark chocolate, broken up
  • 1/2 cup Cream
  • 50ml Cointreau,
  • 1 sandwich toaster
  • 100g good vanilla ice cream
  • cocoa powder / icing sugar


  1. Slice the panetone into thick slices.
  2. Bring the cream to the boil, add the chocolate and whisk in off the heat. Add the Cointreau.
  3. Cool and spread thickly onto one slice of the bread,
  4. sandwich together with the other slice and place into the sandwich toaster.
  5. Toast for 3 minutes.
  6. Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and dust with cocoa or icing sugar.
