Your favourite local arts & craft show is back! Show Me How has endless project ideas that are sure to inspire you. Presenter Gloria Bastos will be at it again with her line up of creative guests who will be guiding you through a series of great arts & crafts. Whether it’s scrap-booking, paper art, sugar art or getting creative with clay and mosaics, we’ll show you how its done.

Season 12

Episode 1 – Paper Flower Arrangement with Roenelle Van Zyl

This week on Show Me How, Gloria Bastos is joined by Roenelle Van Zyl of Brother International who will be showing us how to create beautiful paper flowers for a high tea table setting. She’ll be using the Scan n Cut machine and help Gloria to make her own creative paper flowers.

Episode 2 – Silicone Mould to make cake decorations with Ray Esmany

This week on Show Me How, Gloria is joined by Ray Esmany from Crystal Candy. She will be showing us how to get creative with food grade silicone mould. You will learn how to create silicone moulds using a variety of beautiful projects. From creating the mould out of silicone, to using the moulds for cake decorations. Ray and Gloria will also show you how to paint your moulds to decorate your cake.

Episode 3 – Mixed Media Canvas Art-Andrew Page from Page Design Company

This week, Gloria is joined by Andrew Page from Page Design Company. He shows us how to use a mixed media art canvas project using polymer clay embellishments. You’ll learn how to use various art techniques, such as painting, stencilling, paper embellishments and assembling an intriguing multi-layered project that will suit your personal preferences.

Episode 4 – Arm and Finger Knitting

Today on Show Me How we are using our fingers and arms to create fashionable clothing items using recycled material from old-seamless t-shirts. Leigh-Ann Ferreira of Tarn S.A is going to teach us the art and craft of using T-shirt yarn to knit and weave. She will first show us how to make an arm knitted scarf and later she will show us how to make a necklace using finger weaving.

Episode 5 – Beaded Jewellery

This week Gloria is joined by Rosely Peixoto of Rosely Bijoux and she show us how to make beautiful jewellery pieces to help your jewellery closet to stay on trend. She will be showing us how to use different materials such as fabric, beads, leather and so much more!

Episode 6 – Metal Samping Art

This week, Gloria is joined by Sharon from Say Something and she shows us how to make custom made jewellery using metal stamping. We will learn exciting techniques such as scrapbooking, stamping and embellishing to create projects that say something or projects that say anything.

Episode 7 – Quircky Vinyl Art

This week Gloria is joined by Susan Rudman from ceramic art studio and she will be showing us how to make quirky vinyl prints using recycled wood. We will learn different and exciting painting techniques and how to use different colour shades to create depth. Susan will also show us how to use vinyl prints on different surfaces like ceramics, wood, walls and glass.

Episode 8 – Greeting Cards and Gift Bags

This week, Gloria is joined by Belinda Kangwa from Scrapbook Direct. She will be showing us how to make personalised greeting cards and gift bags that have creative designs and colours. We will learn exciting techniques using specialised craft equipment such as dry embossing, dye-cutting, layering, creating textures, card measurements and so much more. 

 Episode 9 – Monotype Printing

This week. Gloria is joined by Carel Kruger from Ajay’s Art Foundation and he will be showing us how to create artistic monotype prints and ghost prints. Using oil paint and an alkyd medium, Carel shows us how to create various shapes and designs on our prints. He will teach us various techniques such as painting, drawing, transferring designs onto paper, adding texture and detail and so much more!

Episode 10 – 3 D Cake decorating – Teddy Bears Picnic

This week, Gloria is joined by Vanessa Broughton of Hostess Pro. She shows us how to made a 3D cake decoration using various fun and interesting techniques. From using moulds, bunting, stitching, cake painting and so much more.  Vanessa and Gloria will also show you how to embellish the beautiful cake.

Episode 11 – Quilling

This week, Gloria is joined by Kim Geyser from K Craft. She shows us the art and craft of quilling, by teaching us how to use paper to create stunning art projects. We will learn fascinating techniques using special crafting tools. Kim will teach us creative methods such as coiling, fringing, husking and so much more!

Episode 12 – Paper Flowers with Lucinda from Luna Artistry

This week, Gloria is joined by Lucinda Markram from Luna Artistry. She shows us how to make colourful and creative paper flowers. She will teach us various techniques such as curling crepe paper, moulding the paper to form any desired shape and assembling the paper shapes created. She will also show us the versatile uses of this paper for décor, hair accessories, gifts and so much more!

Episode 13 – Crochet – Gingham Blanket

This week Gloria is joined by Carina Visser also known as Ouma Ralie from Kismet Yarns. She shows us how to make a stylish double –sided gingham blanket by crocheting. She will teach us various techniques such as making front post and back post stitches to create texture, slip stitches, how to use different coloured wool, crochet designs and so much more!

Episode 1 – Textured Art

Presenter Gloria Bastos is joined by Ajay Jacobs of Ajay’s Art Foundation. And he’ll be showing us that making a master piece doesn’t have to be complicated. First they show how to make a mixed media portrait and then later show how to make water paint portrait of a bird.

Episode 2 – Mosaics

On today’s episode Gloria Bastos is joined by Marina Ehlers of Mosaic Arts. They’ll be taking us through the process of making impressive projects using these beautiful tile pieces. First, Marina shows how to make a project of Africa and then later show how to make a mosaic star tree

Episode 3 – Chalk Paint

On today’s episode of Show Me How Gloria Bastos is joined by Trudie Ayers of Mulberry Lane. And they’ll be introducing us to the benefits of using multi-purpose Chalk paints. First they show us the different techniques that can be achieved using this paint and then later they transform an ordinary chest of draw into something extra-ordinary.

Episode 4 – Fabric Paint

Gloria Bastos is joined by Irina Dias of Brushstrokes Paint Studio and they’ll be exploring the many possibilities of fabric painting. First, Irina will show how to make a wall art hanging with a simple yet beautiful design and then later Gloria will try her hand at using fabric paints to decorate a plain apron.

Episode 5 – Hand Made Cards

Gloria Bastos is joined by Belinda Kangwa of Scrap Book direct and she’ll be sharing interesting techniques of card making. First, she introduces us to the iris technique and makes a card with a 3D effect and then later shows how to make a gift cracker that you can re-use.

Episode 6 – Pewter Heart and Frame

Gloria Bastos is joined by Elize Roodt of Pewter Art Academy and she’ll be showing us how to move a step up using this medium. First they make a head shot design and then later a heart design to add some character to a mould piece.

Episode 7 – Cake Deco with Peter Gyorgicsek

Gloria Bastos is joined by Peter Gyorgyicsek of WizBake and he’ll be showing us how to make some yummy cake deco designs. First, he shows how to make different designs on a cake to add that extra detail and then later shows Gloria how to decorate plain biscuits into beautiful edible delights.

Episode 8 – Scrapbooking with Ann Marie

Gloria Bastos is joined by Anne- Marie Steyn of Scrap-a-doodles and she’ll be showing us how to revive normal decorative items. First they show us how to transfer photo’s onto a wooden surfaces and then how to stencil beautiful designs on glass and ceramics.

Episode 9 – Inks with Kim Geyser

On today’s episode of Show Me How, Gloria Bastos is joined by Kim Geyser of K Craft. Kim will be showing how to use Inks to make statement projects. First, they show how to make an elegant Canvas Birthday Calendar and then later how to use the Ink Dip Dye and Stamping technique to spruce up plain cardboard paper.

Episode 10 – Photopolymer Print

Gloria Bastos is joined by Debbie Rijns from Precious Metal Clay. Debbie will be showing how to use a photopolymer plate to make interesting designs. First, they make a stamp design and then later show how to make a silver pendent using that design.

Today’s episode is all about Card Making!

Presenter Gloria Bastos is joined by Linita Kappetijn of Scrapbook Direct. And she’ll be taking us through the interesting world of card making. First they show how to make an impressive Interlocking Heart Card and then later Gloria makes her very own Flowering Tree Card.

Using Ink

On today’s episode of Show Me How,

In today’s episode we introduce you to the world of Tarn.

Presenter Gloria Bastos is joined by Megan Bocchi of Tarn SA. And they’ll be showing us the endless possibilities of using T-shirt yarn. Megan will show us how to make a Macramé Wall Hanging and then later Gloria will be guided through making a Crochet bowl using the tarn.

Precious Metal Clay

Gloria Bastos is joined by Debbie Rijns from Precious Metal Clay; Debbie will be showing how to use a photopolymer plate to make interesting designs. First, they make a stamp design and then later show how to make a silver pendent using that design.

Spirit Sandals

Presenter Gloria Bastos is joined by Jennifer Rutter of Spirit Sandals. They’ll be showing how to use plan flip flop soles and colourful fabrics to make stylist footwear. First, they make a wrap around ankle sandal and then later show how to make a silk strap sandal with embellishments.

Washi Tape and Chalkboard Paint

Gloria Bastos is joined by Tneal Cooper of Cotton Candi and they’ll be showing how you can use Washi tape and Chalkboards as a feature in your home. First they make a printed monogram for a kid’s room and then later make functional decorative chalkboards.

Scapbooking

This week Gloria Bastos is joined by

Jowilna Nolte of Scrapcouture and they’ll be showing the interesting possibilities of working with cards. First they make a Faux Blackboard Technique Card and then later make mini card inserts to spruce up a plain file.

Miniature Picture Frame and a Dragonfly Scrapbooking page

Gloria Bastos is joined by Mara Schillaci of Hillcrest Art Supplies and they’ll be showing how to incorporate scrapbooking to preserve our photos. First they make a blue contemporary scrapbook layout frame and then later Mara shows Gloria how to make a miniature box frame.

Clock Making

This week on Show Me How, We get creative with Clock Making. Gloria Bastos is joined by Tennille Hurge of Cape Watch Supplies and they’ll be exploring the interesting possibilities of making your very own clock. First they make a unique clock out of a cookie tin and then later show how to make steam punk design earrings re-using clock movements, gears, cogs and dials.

Season 9

Episode 1 – Mosaics

Today, Lemaryn Alberts from Mosaics by Lemaryn will show how to make a contemporary tea tray. Then she will show Gloria how to make her own personalised glass tiles.

Episode 2 – Making Cards

Joan Spaull of Country Crafts will give us a glimpse of her world of card making. We’ll be making an intricate greeting card. Then Gloria will decorate make and envelope card using rubber stamps.

Episode 3 – Wall Talk Stickers

Today Trudie Ayers of Wall Talk is showing us how to have fun with words. She will show us how to make a dream board to express our goals. And then we’ll take glass bottles & show you new ways to decorate them.

Episode 4 – Decorating Wooden Items

Ros Allman of Scrappers Solutions is in studio and she designs all sorts of wooden storage units. First she shows how to use interesting paint techniques to transform a coffee station and then later Gloria decorates a ribbon box.

Today we’ll be exploring the world of paper filigree known as Quilling. Kim Geyser of K Craft will be showing how to get creative with this medium. First they transform a key rack into something special and then later Gloria will make an artistic canvas design.

It’s all about delicious and delectable sweet stuff. Guest Peter Gyorgicsek is going to show us how to make sugar sculptures and then later presenter Gloria Bastos will make yummy chocolate slabs.

Episode 12 – Decoupage

Miriam Johnson of Brasch Hobby will teach us how to use decoupage to create contemporary items for the home. She will show us how to transform a plain treasure box. Then later Gloria will use texture paints to transform a picture frame into something interesting.

Today we’re exploring with Washi Tape. This decorative tape is available in loads of colours and designs. Presenter Gloria Bastos and guest Nadia Ten Cate will use washi tape to decorate party theme items as well as office stationery.
