
Sesame Bagels
Quick and easy bagels
Ingredients:
- 6 Cups White Bread Flour
- 2,25 Cups of Lukewarm water
- 2 tbsp Golden Syrup
- 10g Salt
- 7g Dried Yeast
Steps:
- Add yeast to water and let stand for a few minutes
- Combine all the other ingredients, mix in the yeast water and knead for 10 minutes
- Prove the dough for 40 minutes in a warm room (the dough should be quite dry)
- Divide the dough into 6-10 buns (depending on desired size)
- Make a hole in the middle of each bun to form a ring
- Let the rings rest for 5 minutes
- Stretch the dough rings slightly before adding to a pot of rapidly boiling water. Boil for 1-2 minutes. If the bagels do not float, it might mean that they need more proving.
- Optional: While damp and before baking, add sesame seeds
- Bake your bagels at 220°C for 20 minutes until golden brown
