
Repurposed Cupboard door
Re-purposing old items is a great way to create unique once-off pieces! In this week’s episode, Peter and Annalien give new life to a louvre or shutter cupboard door, by incorporating it into a display shelf.
You will need:

PST 18 Jigsaw | Sides 120mm x 500 mm – 2 pieces |
PSR 18 Cordless | Shelves 120 mmm x 305 mm – 3 pieces |
PEX 220 sander | top tier 50mm x 350mm – 1 piece |
PFS 2000 Spray gun | 2nd tier 70mm x 390 mm – 1 piece |
Palm router | bottom backing 82mm x 305 mm – 1 piece |
3mm Masonite | |
Backing 430mm x 337mm – 1 piece | |
hooks or door knobs – 3 pieces | |
Mirror to fit inside louver | |
Chalk paint – 2 colours (complimentary to each other) | |
Clear coat (varnish) | |
Screws – 3.5 x 35mm | |
wood glue |
Follow these steps:
- Sand Louvre door
- Cut shelving to size
- Cut sides to size
- Mark out where shelves fit to sides
- Optional – Cut out decorative shape into sides
- Cut top tiers
- Router all relative edges
- Assemble top tiers
- Assemble shelving
- Cut backing to size
- Attach bottom backing and drill holes for hooks/knobs
- Paint shelves and tiers one colour
- Paint Louvre
- Assemble shelves and Louvre
- Attach mirror
