Mshikaki

Ingredients

  • 1kg rump or fillet steak, cut into cubes
  • 5ml red chilli powder
  • 2ml black pepper
  • 5ml ginger, crushed
  • 5ml garlic, crushed
  • 15ml tomato paste
  • 15ml oil
  • salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoons raw pawpaw, blended to a smooth paste

Method

  1. Mix all the ingredients in a large bowl and marinate meat overnight or for at least 4 hrs in the fridge.
  2. Skewer the meat on water soaked wooden skewers.
  3. Make the braai fire and grill the meat skewers on the braai, basting with marinate until cooked.
