Luxury designer Ali Budd and her team take on the task of designing their first epic
lake house – a 6,000-square-foot new build, perched on the cliffside of a private
island, and nestled in the Canadian wilderness, far north of the city. Ali combines
natural materials from the surrounding area with her signature luxury aesthetic to
create the perfect marriage of rustic and modern style in this summer vacation
home. The project gets off to a strong start, but working with new builders under
tight deadlines means relationships are tested, and tensions run even higher when
the client asks to move in early. It’s all aboard and all hands on deck as Ali enlists
the help of her husband Martin to help barge materials across the lake and uphill to
get this dream home finished on time.
