Grilled Lobster Tails with a Fresh Homemade Salsa


  • 6 Lobster Tails
  • Cucumber
  • Red onion
  • Dried mango
  • 1 whole red chilly
  • Coriander
  • Parsley
  • Granadilla pulp
  • Lemon juice
  • Lemon zest
  • Salt and pepper
  • Olive oil


  1. Prepare the lobster tails by cutting through the shell on their backs to expose the flesh
  2. Rub the lobster tails with some Olive Oil, lemon juice, lemon zest and salt and pepper – making sure that these flavours come in contact with the flesh
  3. Roughly shop some fresh parsley and add to the marinate
  4. Braai the lobster tails on the fire, turning it continuously to prevent it from burning, and also basting with olive oil and lemon juice continuously until cooked and the colour changes to a vibrant red
  5. Finely chop the cucumber, red onion, dried mango, red chili, coriander and parsley
  6. Add the granadilla pulp, lemon juice, lemon zest and olive oil to this base and mix it thoroughly
  7. Season with salt and pepper
  8. Serve the lobster tails on some flat breads along with the prepared salsa
