Chocolate & Banana Springrolls

In this episode we make chocolate and banana springrolls, Makes 4-6 large parcels

  • 2-3 bananas,
  • 100g good quality dark chocolate, roughly chopped
  • Springroll wrappers
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • Oil for deep frying
  • Honey, to drizzle
  • Icing sugar, to sprinkle

Step 1:

With the tip of your finger, split the bananas into thirds lengthways (it will split naturally) and slice in half and set aside.

Step 2:

Lay your springroll wrappers on a flat surface with the tips facing towards you. Place the banana stick horizontally at the bottom corner and sprinkle some of the chocolate over the banana.

Step 3:

Roll tightly, tucking in the sides as you go and seal at the end corner with a brush of egg wash.  Repeat until you have enough spring rolls.

Step 4:

Pre-heat the oil to 180°C and fry the spring rolls until crisp and golden.

Step 5:

Serve drizzled with honey and sprinkled with icing sugar.
