Chef Bruno is cooking up a storm with media personality Zuraida Jardine as they prepare gourmet boerewors rolls and crepes with grilled peaches.

Gourmet Boerewors sandwich & Grilled peaches pancake

 Ingredients for 4 servings

For the sandwich

  • 1 French baguette
  • 1 to 2 fresh Boerewors sausage by serving
  • Dijon mustard at taste
  • Some nice tomato chili jam
  • A nice brie cheese or any kind of South African cheese you like

Grilled peaches pancake

  • 2 peaches by person, not too ripped, already cut in too with no bone.
  • Pancake batter
  • Few scoops of creme fraiche
  • Cinnamon sugar
  • Chopped mint
  • Raspberry sauce, 2 or 3 table spoon by plate


The tip:

In your Boerewors sandwich you can add some sautéed onions and mushrooms, grilled vegetables with Optigrill…

You can substitute the creme fraiche by any kind of sorbet or ice cream.

You can substitute the raspberry sauce by some butterscotch sauce.

You can, also, grill some pineapple (separately) … to mix with the peaches



For the Boerewors sandwich

  1. Turn on the Optigrill on the sausage mode.
  2. When the Optigrill is ready cook the Boereworth until yellow stage or more cooked if you like it more well done.
  3. During this time cut your garnishes and baguette.
  4. When the sausages are ready to eat, build the sandwiches with it and the garnishes. Bon Appétit.

The peaches

  1. Turn on the Optigrill on manual mode
  2. Mix the fruit with mint and cinnamon sugar.
  3. When the Optigrill is ready to cook, pour the peaches in. When they are ready, you need to have the fruit a little soft.
  4. Warm up you Tefal pan and cook your pancake, when the Thermospot is completely red. If it’s a French pancake batter, make them very thin. When cooked let them aside on plate.
  5. You can cut your pancake with a ring cutter.
  6. Make a kind of round nice presentation on plate.
  7. When the peaches are ready put them in the middle of the plate on top of the pancakes.
  8. Add some raspberry sauce and scoop of crème fraiche.
