
Garden Planter Bench
Here is a great project for those looking to bring life to a quiet spot in the garden, whilst recycling some pallets! Peter and Annalien show you how to build a garden bench using some old shipping pallets.
You will need:

PST 18 Jigsaw | Sides 1200mm – 2 pieces |
PSR 18 Cordless | shelves 150mm x 660mm – 3 pieces (grain in long direction) |
PEX 220 sander | Sides 450 mm – 4 pieces |
PFS 2000 Spray gun | Legs 400 mm – 4 pieces |
POF 1400 | Planter slats – +/- 16 pieces (depends on wood width) |
PSA 1800 Saber Saw plus pallet blade | Plywood 18mm – planter base 450 x 450mm – 1 piece |
waterproof glue | |
4 x 40mm screws | |
4 x 30 mm screws | |
thinners 750ml | |
green or brown paint tint | |
clear varnish 1ltr |
Follow these steps
- Cut pallets up
- Cut side slats to size
- Join all four slats to make a frame
- Cut legs to size and join to form an L
- Cut planter bin slats to size
- Build the bin
- Attach bin and legs
- Fit support slats under seat
- Cut seat to size and attach slats
- Cut bin frame and attach on top of the bin
- Sand
- Stain with tinting
- Seal with clear varnish
