Horseradish Mayonnaise

Easy, Moderate, Complex


  • 1 cup good mayonnaise (250 ml)
  • 5 inch piece of horseradish root – use about 4 big tablespoons, grated (25 g)
  • The juice of ¼ lemon
  • A dash of Tabasco or your favourite bottled hot sauce
  • A pinch sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon prepared horseradish (5 g)


  1. Use a vegetable peeler or a knife  to peel the surface skin off of the tuber.
  2. Using a microplane grater, grate up about 4 hefty tablespoons of the stuff.
  3. Add to your mayo and add remaining ingredients. Cover and let rest in the fridge until ready to use.
