Have you ever had the urge to explore your creativity but didn’t know where to start? We’ve got your back! Here’s a simple DIY project that’ll kickstart your creative journey – a stunning bird bath that doubles as a decorative item.

Creating a Fun Stop For your Feathery Friends

To tap into your creativity, add a pop of colour to your outdoor space by DIYing a stunning bird bath for your feathery friends in 7 simple steps.

What you’ll need:

Terracotta bowl (for solid and lasting charm)
Terracotta tiles in various colors
Rapid-setting cement
Water
Mosaic tiles for that extra flair

Instructions:

Step 1:
Combine the rapid-setting cement with water until you achieve a thick yoghurt-like consistency. This quick-setting mix gives you a limited window of opportunity to work, so be swift! Then drop a dollop of the mixture into the centre of the terracotta bowl and place a contrasting tile on it.  Build around it, adding the cement mixture to the sides of the tile, creating a textured foundation.

Step 2:
Slice mosaic tiles into smaller pieces, playing with shapes and colors. This is your chance to break free from symmetry and embrace freestyle creativity. Use a tile cutter for triangles and jagged edges to add a dynamic touch.

Step 3:
Add the tiles by organising them around the tile you placed in the centre earlier on. Ensure that they stick to the base mixture. Don’t panic if it looks chaotic, methodically clean excess slurry with a damp cloth or sponge. Let your bird bath dry until the base turns grey. Find the perfect spot in your garden, and voilà – a dazzling addition that’ll not only delight birds but also add a pop of color to your garden space.

In just a few easy steps, you’ve transformed a simple terracotta bowl into a vibrant bird bath. Enjoy the process, embrace the imperfections, and let your creativity shine in your outdoor space.
