Concrete Garden Chair

What you will need:

What to do:

  1. Working on a level surface, assemble all cut pieces of plywood together in the shape of a chair (as shown on the video clip). Then use wood screws to put all the pieces together
  2. Cut re-enforcing 6ml bar into fair size and put four pieces to create a grid then use binding wire to secure them in place. You will need 3 re-enforcing grids for this chair.
  3. Mix 2 buckets of riversand, 1 bucket of cement and 1 bucket of 19mm stone with water to form a yoghurt consistency concrete mixture.
  4. Pour in the concrete into the boxing, use a piece of wood to spread the mixture until you have at least 10cm concrete layer at the bottom of the boxing. Place the re-enforcing grid into the boxing then continue to fill the boxing with the concrete up to the top. Use a steel trowel to smooth the down the top and create a smooth finish.
  5. To get rid of the air pockets that might be trapped inside, gently tap the boxing with a rubber mallet. Then leave it to dry for at least 5 days (or until its dry) before removing the concrete chair from the boxing
