Building a Go Kart
The Get It Done Team build a go kart under the watchful eye and help of some 7th graders from Crawford Prep College. The idea is for the students to learn how to build a go kart and then compete in a race day against other Crawford Colleges who also build replica carts based on the Get It Done model.
You will need:

| PSR 1080 Cordless drill driver (New one) | Seat bottom 500 x 400mm – 1 piece |
| PFS Spray gun | Seat sides 482 x 300mm – 2 pieces |
| Belt sander | Seat back 400 x 300mm – 1 piece |
| Push handle 100 x 500 mm – 1 piece | |
| clear varnish (water based) We can also use stain it a colour and then vanish | |
| 70 x 50 mm pine (should have off cuts in your box) | |
| Broom stick – 500mm – 1 piece | |
| Wheels – 150-200mm 4 pieces | |
| Bolts (thickness depends on wheel inner diameter) smooth type 120/150mm long – 4 pieces | |
| washers to fit wheel bolts – 20 pieces | |
| Lock nuts to fit wheel bolts – 4 pieces | |
| steering bolt – 12-16mm x 120mm smooth type- 1 piece plus 4 washers and 1 normal nut plus 1 lock nut. | |
| Bolt for brake – 10/12mm x 80mm bolt plus 4 washers and lock nut | |
| Rope – Thick enough to hold in hand and steer – 2 mtrs | |
| 4 x 40mm screws | |

Steps:
- Cut shape in front of middle strut
- Drill pilot holes in front and seat slats.
- Draw and cut out shape for the seat sides and back
- Join seat sides and back
- Fit blocks for axles on front slat and back slat
- Drill holes for wheel bolts
- Fit Seat to middle strut
- Cut push handle sides
- Drill and fit broom stick to handle sides
- Attach handle to back of seat
- Cut out hand brake and fit to seat side
- Sand, stain and varnish
- Fit wheels
- Fit rope
