Blood Orange Granita

Serves 4


  • 1⅓ cups (330ml) water
  • 1 cup (220g) caster (superfine) sugar
  • 2 cups (500ml) blood orange juice


  1. Place the water and sugar in a saucepan over low heat and stir until sugar dissolves. Set aside to cool.
  2. Combine the sugar syrup with the juice and pour into a metal container.
  3. Freeze the juice mixture for 4 hours or until set.
  4. To serve, rake the granita with a fork and spoon into serving glasses.
